GRiD has won a new contract from a NATO country for the supply of a large number of GRiDCASE 2530 rugged tablets for the Leopard 2 tank, a third generation main battle tank (MBT).
The contract is for the supply of the GRiDCASE 2530 tablet for use with the Leopard 2 Tank Battlefield Management System.
Each tablet will be manufactured and tested by experts at our dedicated facility in the UK.
The GRiDCASE 2530 is a 10.1” military tablet, which is designed and built to withstand harsh environments and is suited for both deployed applications and fixed in-vehicle use.
As with all GRiD products, the GRiDCASE 2530 is fully qualified to meet a number of military standards, including MIL-STD-810G for environment; this covers a number of rigorous tests including 26 drops onto every side, face, corner and edge. The GRiDCASE 2530 rugged tablet is also qualified to MIL-STD-461G for EMC, Ground Army Limits, and has a very low EMC profile.
Long-term reliability in the harshest environments, coupled with the ability to be configured with the exact connectors, pinouts and mounting solution for the vehicle, makes the GRiDCASE 2530 the perfect solution.
“The GRiDCASE 2530 10.1″ Tablet is proving to be the perfect rugged tablet for use in military vehicle applications. Its ability to withstand the very harshest environments, whilst being configured to your exact requirements makes integration of this box-on, box-off tablet a very simple task reducing cost and risk to the customer,” says Ben Walker, Sales Director of GRiD.
Fixed to the console of a rigid inflatable boat (RIB) is arguably one of the harshest environments in our industry. Read more about the GRiDCASE 2530 and its versatility in the GRiDCASE 2530 CGI RIB Case Study here.
